High Representative meets new Head of EU Delegation/EUSR

The OHR and the European Union will continue to work together with other partners in the international community to assist Bosnia and Herzegovina in meeting its international commitments and implementing reforms, High Representative Valentin Inzko said during a meeting with the new Head of EU Delegation and EU Special Representative in BiH Lars-Gunnar Wigemark in Sarajevo today.

The High Representative stressed that Euro-Atlantic integration, respect for the rule of law, which includes full adherence to the Dayton Peace Agreement, economic reforms and fighting corruption should be key priorities of the new authorities. “The OHR, the European Union and other international actors, with their complementary mandates, are on the ground to assist the country in establishing functionality and efficiency at all levels of government”, the High Representative said.

Ambassadors Inzko and Wigemark reiterated the international community’s commitment to Bosnia and Herzegovina as a sovereign and united country, as well as their support for much-needed and sometimes difficult changes that are required for the country to become a functional, stable and prosperous member of the European family.
