Following the announcement of the High Representative on 12 January regarding the establishment of a Commission tasked with proposing alternatives for the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the High Representative is pleased to announce today that the Commission has proposed three alternatives for the flag.
The High Representative welcomes the fact that the members of the independent Commission, drawn from Bosnia’s intellectual and academic circles, have been able to propose three flag designs in such a short time.
The proposed designs will now be forwarded to the Parliamentary Assembly, which is expected to select and adopt one of the models on 3 February.
Thereafter, the flag design adopted by the Parliament will be passed to the Presidency on February 4 for approval.
The High Representative urges the Common Institutions to observe this timeline, to ensure that this important symbol of statehood can be displayed at the Nagano Winter Olympic Games
