Dear Mr. Reljic,
On December 4, 1998, a public rally was held in Vlasenica. Following a statement which you gave, the crowd attacked and injured two members of the ECMM mission.
I am informed that the authorities of the Republika Srpska have initiated a criminal investigation of the incident. I consider it unacceptable that you exercise public functions while the investigation is going on. Therefore, under the authorities vested upon me under section XI of the Bonn PIC declaration, I suspend you from your office pending the findings and results of the ongoing criminal procedure. You are prohibited from exercising any of your official functions until further notice.
Copies of this letter will be forwarded to Dr. Nikola Poplasen, President of the Republika Srpska, and Mr. Milorad Dodik, Prime Minister of the Republika Srpska.
