The High Representative, Carlos Westendorp, has received the design for the Convertible Marka Currency and has accepted the recommendation of the Governor of the Central Bank, Peter Nicholl. In doing so, he has taken into account as many of the Presidency proposals as could be accommodated. But ultimately, the High Representative concluded that in the interest of the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the reconstruction of the country’s economy, there could be no further delay in the introduction of the Convertible Marka Currency.
Mr. Westendorp and Mr. Nicholl will hold a press conference at the OHR at 1830 on 21 January to present the currency design.
