Meeting in Sarajevo today the High Representative and EU Special Representative, (HR/EUSR) Valentin Inzko, and the Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY), Serge Brammertz, discussed Bosnia and Herzegovina’s cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia.

In the midst of “an intense and crucial exercise to recalibrate Bosnia and Herzegovina’s relationship with the international community”, it is imperative that “the economy is not simply put on the back burner,” the High Representative and EU Special Representative, Valentin Inzko, told a conference of BiH and Slovenian employers today.

Following the conclusion of talks in Butmir the High Representative and EU Special Representative, Valentin Inzko, issued the following statement:

The High Representative and EU Special Representative, Valentin Inzko, welcomes the continuation of the Butmir dialogue of BiH political leaders, facilitated by the European Union and the United States and extends his full support to the overall process of bringing Bosnia and Herzegovina closer to Euro-Atlantic integrations.

High Representative and the European Union Special Representative Valentin Inzko met today in Sarajevo with the US ambassador for war crimes, Stephen J. Rapp. In their discussion on war crime issues High Representative and Ambassador Rapp noted that the arrest and transfer of Ratko Mladic to the ICTY remains the priority for Bosnia and Herzegovina. The High Representative and EU Special Representative, Valentin Inzko, today met in Sarajevo with Tanja Fajon, a member of the European Parliament, who has presented a document to the European Parliament requesting that BiH and Albania be included on the White Schengen List as soon as the requirements of the European Commission have been met.

Even in the present political turbulence BiH legislators can take sensible steps to improve citizens’ living conditions, the High Representative and EU Special Representative, Valentin Inzko, told businesspeople in Sarajevo today.
