“I welcome the Mostar City Council’s unanimous adoption today of its 2010 budget,” said High Representative and EU Special Representative, Valentin Inzko. “Although its adoption was long after the legal deadline, today’s action is a clear improvement over last year’s artificially created crisis related to the City budget and election of the mayor. It demonstrates that Mostar politicians can exercise ownership and demonstrate responsibility when they choose to, and I hope they will continue to do so,” noted Inzko. The High Representative and EU Special Representative today commended Mostar Mayor Ljubo Beslic and the City Council for resolving this important issue, and called for further cooperative development of Mostar in the interests of all its citizens.
