News Summary

Farrand visits Travnik and Jajce Municipality representatives to investigate implementation of refugee return process

Brcko Supervisor Robert Farrand visited Travnik and Jajce to discuss two-way refugee return with municipality heads. At the meeting with Central Bosnia Canton authorities, Farrand discussed a Brcko-Central Bosnia Canton two-way return plan. He said that the authorities expressed a readiness to invest efforts into improvement of implementation in this issue. According to Central Bosnia Governor Branko Golub, around 4,000 Serbs, former citizens of Travnik and Jajce, now live in Brcko. BiH Federation Minister for Social Policy and Refugees Sulejman Garib expressed satisfaction with the meeting. According to Farrand’s information, around 60-70% of the displaced persons in Brcko want to return to their pre-war homes. Farrand’s meeting with Jajce Municipality representatives concluded that concrete actions on the refugee return process for Brcko-Jajce will follow.

SDA press conference

The SDA stated at a press conference that the CD Coalition will start an initiative for restructuring the RS Government and will demand that Bosniaks and Croats participate in the RS executive. The SDA supports all requests towards achieving Bosniak rights in Sandzak. The SDA does not support the agreement on Zepce, and they will not back down in the face of announced sanctions on this region.
