Sarajevo

After four years of discussion in the BiH Federation Parliament, the Law on Work has been adopted by the Representative House, OBN reporter, Damir Kaletovic, confirmed.

Sarajevo

Today, the session of the BiH Parliament Representative House was interrupted only after a short discussion about several issues from the agenda. Representatives of the Social Democrat Party left the session because they were not satisfy with voting. The report was produced by OBN reporter, Sevko Bajic.

Banja Luka

This was followed by a report on the issue of the BiH Council of Ministers reconstruction. Several suggestions have been discussed, all of them in compliance with the BiH Constitution. Today in Banja Luka, the Co-chairman of the Council, Svetozar Mihajlovic, said that this body should had been structured similar as the BiH Presidency. This means that the Council should not have two co-chairmans but one. The report was produced by OBN reporter from the town, Sanela Zivkovic.

World

Protests against the current regime in twenty towns in Serbia, for the fourteenth day in a row, continue. Approximately 60,000 people gathered on the streets in Serbian towns.

This was followed by a report on the current situation in Kosovo. Early this morning, KFOR removed barricades placed by Serbs on the main road in Kosovo Polje. Tanks, armored vehicles and helicopters were used in the action.

Una-Sana Canton

The Helsinki Committee in BiH warned to a number of cases of breaching human rights in the Una-Sana Canton. There is a lot of concrete examples for those claims. The report from Bihac was produced by OBN reporter, Amarildo Gutic.

Banja Luka

The law on privatisation of state owned apartments in the RS will have to be discussed again at the next session of the Government. This happened because the draft law had been changed, OBN reporter from Banja Luka, Suzana Vukcevic, confirmed.

Banja Luka

This was followed by a report on the program for maintaining stability in the RS. The program has been developed upon the request of the RS Government. The aim of the program is to protect currently employed who could stay without their jobs in the forthcoming process of privatisation, OBN reporter from the town, Milorad Milojevic, confirmed. The RS Government will discuss the program at its next session.

Sarajevo

October 5th is the International Day of Teachers. OBN reporter, Mirela Pehar, produced a report on the current, inadequate education system in BiH. One of the problems is presence of different school programs in two BiH entities.

Jablanica

Ten years ago, reconstruction of the hydroelectric power station had been started. The first phase of the reconstruction has been finished, OBN reporter, Anes Alic, confirmed.

Cazin

A piece on the brick factory in Cazin, one of the most successful companies in the Una-Sana Canton. The report was produced by OBN reporter from the town, Azra Bajric.

Sarajevo

This was followed by a report on the international show of information technology. One hundred and twenty one company participate in the show, OBN reporter, Slobodan Maksimovic, confirmed.

Sarajevo (OHR)

The Independent Media Commission (IMC) issued a provisional license for the experimental broadcast of the RTV BiH Federation programme on the second channel of RTV BiH. The OHR officials claim that this would decrease importance of HRT programme in the media landscape of BiH. The Deputy high Representative for Media, Simon Haselock, said to OBN reporter, Vedran Persic, that the aim of yesterday’s talks in Zagreb, between OHR and HRT, was to reach an agreement with HRT and the Croatian Government to remove the HRT programme from the frequencies they had been using in BiH and to legalise their broadcast in BiH.
