Srebrenica

On June 7th the first session of the Srebrenica municipality Assembly was held. It seemed that the time for the implementation of the election results in the municipality had come. Last night’s brutal attack on the Municipal Secretary, Munib Hasanovic, by unknown attackers could endanger the whole process of return of Bosniaks to the Municipality. Mostar

Ten opposition parties in the Hercegovina-Neretva Canton established coalition, OBN reporter from the area, Pejo Gasparevic, confirmed.

Sarajevo

Although there are a lot of international and local organisations in BiH which deal with problems of refugees, none of them have information about the exact number of refugees and how many of them returned to their pre-war homes. OBN reporter, Anes Alic, researches what the BiH Council of Ministers has done to solve this problem of producing exact information on refugees.

Banja Luka

The Banja Luka Municipality Assembly adopted yesterday plan for refugee return. According to the plan, 1,252 families should return to Banja Luka. This is a pilot project that had been agreed on the level of entire BiH. Now, the problem is to provide accommodation for those who currently live in the homes of returnees. The town authorities in Banja Luka have been trying to find a solution although without bigger success.

Sarajevo

Protection of rights on property are the main factor in supporting the return of refugees and protection of human rights. The key role in this respect has the Commission for Property Claims of Refugees and Displaced Persons. The Spokesperson of the Commission, Vanesa Zecevic, was a guest of the last night TV INFO. Vanesa Zecevic said that the Commission have received 167,000 claims to date and reached more than 60,000 decisions.

Visegrad

A report on the Visegrad town that for a long time had been avoided by the international organisations and media due to hardliners from the SDS and Radical Party. The town officials say that this situation will change. Currently, 12,000 refugees and displaced persons live in the town, OBN reporter, Damir Kaletovic, confirmed.

Mostar

A piece on the visit of the Serb returnees in the Brankovac residential quarter in Mostar by the town officials. This is the first return of Serbs to the center of the town.

World

A report on the new incidents in Kosovo and KFOR actions was followed by reports on the continuation of Russian troops progress in Chechenia, elections in India, recent train accident in Great Britain, severe floods in Mexico, UN session and current events in Middle East. The report was produced by OBN journalist, Zeljka Lekic.

Sarajevo

A report from the site of a car accident which occurred around 7 p.m.

in Sarajevo. One individual was injured, OBN reporter, Adis Saranovic, reported.

Banja Luka

The RS Government held its session in Banja Luka today and adopted several laws. The biggest attention was paid to the results of the “Stop Smuggling” action. According to the ministers, the action should be developed further.

Sarajevo

The US General, Montgomery Meigs, leaves a position of the SFOR Commander in BiH. General Meigs said today that he expects entities’ armies to be professional, OBN reporter, Vedran Persic, confirmed.

This was followed by a piece on the sewage disposal problem in the Center Municipality in Sarajevo. The report was produced by OBN reporter, Sevko Bajic.

The second Congress of nurses and medical staff began today in Sarajevo. One hundred and eighty nine lecturers came to the Congress from Croatia, Sweden, Switzerland, the USA and BiH, OBN reporter, Mirela Pehar, confirmed.
