NATO Secretary General Javier Solana and NATO commander for Europe Wesley Clark are satisfied with democratic changes in the RS, RS President Biljana Plavsic stated after the meeting today, and added: I think that we can say that we managed to carry out very responsibly all the things that the people expected from us in order to provide them with a happier life in peace and prosperity, with institutions which respect both the RS Constitution and the DA. Commenting on the Brcko decision the President stated: I think that Mr.Owen, the main arbitrator for Brcko, is aware of the overall situation in the region and that the decision will be a reasonable one, which will not result in riots in the area and will not jeopardize the peace. Javier Solana expressed satisfaction with the meeting with the RS President and RS Prime Minister and added that the new Republic Government would have the support of the IC. The RS Prime Minister stated that April would be a month of fighting the grey economy.

Javier Solana visited Brcko today and spoke to major Borko Reljic. The NATO Secretary General stated that he was satisfied with everything that had been done in the town and added that it could be a model for the whole country.

The B&H Council of Minister held a session today in the Museum in Sarajevo. Various issues were discussed at the session, such as the seat of the CoM, etc. Ministers adopted the IMF Memorandum and discussed two projects to be funded by US AID: $US 129 million for reconstruction of BiH and $US 160 million assistance for municipal infrastructure. The CoM was informed about the Japanese Government’s assistance to BiH.

A peaceful night passes in Kosovo and Metohija. Albanians from Kosovo did not accept the proposal of the Serbian Government to solve the problem by political means: Albanians failed to attend a meeting with a delegation of the Serbian Government.
