Beginning at 11am today, OHR North staff with municipal officials representing Brcko RS and Rahic Brcko marked 33 houses in the Klanac area. This housemarking is part of the technical process of cataloguing destroyed, unoccupied houses in Brcko RS, as agreed by both entities.
Between 30 and 50 persons registered their opposition to this activity in Klanac this morning. As the small crowd gathered a driver in a Federation plated vehicle was assaulted and his vehicle stoned. The Supervisor for Brcko condemns this act of violence and will be taking it up with RS authorities. Apart from this regrettable incident the protest was peaceful.
The Supervisor for Brcko wishes to make clear that the process of house-marking will continue. He reminds the RS municipal and governmental authorities of their responsibilities under the Supplemental Award.
