Streamlining of OHR operations in Central Bosnia Canton

The High Representative, Wolfgang Petritsch, has reviewed and restructured the OHR presence in the Central Bosnia Canton (Canton 6). The High Representative has appointed his Special Envoy for Bugojno, Gornji Vakuf-Uskoplje and Prozor-Rama, Ulrich Bucher, as Head of Office for the integrated Central Bosnia Canton OHR Office in Travnik.

The Special Envoy’s mission in Bugojno, Gornji Vakuf-Uskoplje and Prozor-Rama, has been accomplished and the office and position of Special Envoy for Bugojno will cease to exist. The OHR-RRTF Travnik operating structure will be consolidated with the former Special Envoy’s team, who have now moved to Travnik. The OHR Special Envoy office in Bugojno will be closed by the end of this year.

In his new capacity Mr. Bucher will be responsible for the overall operations of the OHR Travnik Office and will act as co-ordinator of the international community’s effort in Canton 6, overseeing the implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement and the Decisions of the High Representative.

This initiative is a practical move towards streamlined international operations at the local level. It reflects the intention to strengthen partnership between the international community and local authorities at all levels, as promoted by the High Representative in the context of the overall streamlining of the international community’s presence in BiH.
