The reactions from political parties responsible for the failure , as reported in today’s media, to form the government in HNC underline one more time the shameful waste of time and betrayal of voter’s confidence that created this situation in the first instance.
“Along with the citizens I expected to see some signs of maturity after the ‘yellow card’ the parties and their leaders received yesterday. First reaction from party leaders, after 7 months of inability to form the government, shows that they continue to put their own party interests ahead of the public interest. Their continued failure to recognize the need to form the cantonal government, as a priority matter, and to exercise ownership and responsibility is a scandal,” said High Representative Christian Schwarz-Schilling today.
“I expect those responsible to address this issue without delay. There is still an opportunity for those political parties and individuals responsible to act without further delays, but now I am also diretcly involved in this issue and my measures will become increasingly painful for parties and individuals alike until a government is in place”, he added.
