PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION

The Software Developer/Database Administrator will support the organization’s digital transformation, focusing on modernization of legacy intranet systems and migration of business applications to the Microsoft Azure cloud environment. The role will focus on redeveloping and integrating existing on-premises desktop and web applications built in Microsoft technologies (classic ASP, IIS, Access, SQL Server) and supporting migration toward Microsoft Azure cloud services, Power Platform, and other modern technologies and, where possible, integrate them with the OHR cloud ERP system – Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. The purpose of position is to design, develop, and maintain secure, efficient, and scalable software solutions supporting the organization’s administrative, operational, and archival processes in the cloud. The organization currently operates a mixed environment of on-premises SQL Server, Microsoft Access, and classic ASP applications with plans to migrate to Azure SQL, Power Platform, and modern ASP.NET applications hosted in the cloud.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Migration and Modernization
  • Analyze existing classic ASP intranet and Access applications and redesign them using NET (C#), Power Apps, Azure App Services or similar.
  • Migrate internal legacy system and related databases and functionalities to Azure cloud-based environment while maintaining data integrity and continuity.
  • Refactor legacy code and improve performance, usability, and security of migrated applications.
  • Ensure compatibility with Microsoft authentication and cloud security standards (Azure AD, Entra ID).
  1. Application Development and Maintenance
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance web applications on Azure using ASP.NET (C#) and related technologies.
  • Develop cloud-based applications and workflows using Power Apps and Power Automate.
  1. Database Administration
  • Design, implement, and optimize relational databases in Microsoft SQL Server (local and Azure SQL).
  • Create and maintain database structures, stored procedures, triggers, and queries.
  • Ensure data integrity, performance tuning, and security best practices.
  1. System Integration
  • Support integration between internal systems, Microsoft 365 services, and external data sources.
  • Implement Azure Active Directory (Entra) for user authentication in new web applications. Microsoft Entra for OHR cloud users is already implemented and configured as well as OHR SharePoint online portal.
  1. Cloud Solutions Management
  • Manage Azure resources (App Services, SQL Database, Storage Accounts, etc.).
  1. Intranet and SharePoint portal maintenance/update
  • Provide basic administration, maintenance and update of the current OHR WordPress Intranet and SharePoint portal
  1. Documentation and Support
  • Prepare and maintain documentation, including user manuals and technical guides.
  • Provide user support and training when needed.
  1. General ICT Support and Collaboration
  • Serve as a backup resource for ICT team during absences or high workload periods.

 

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in software development using Microsoft technologies.
  • Proven experience with NET, C#, SQL Server, and Microsoft Access.
  • Experience with Azure SQL and cloud-based development.
  • Familiarity with Power Apps, Power Automate, and other components of Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Desirable basic knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central / NAV

Technical Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in SQL (T-SQL) for data manipulation and optimization.
  • Good understanding of web technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS).
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git).
  • Understanding data security principles and GDPR compliance.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Proactive attitude toward learning and technology improvement.
