Seats to fill in the Brcko District Interim Assembly

Following the Assembly’s unanimous decision of 7 November and in response to the Assembly’s concern that the Serb population of the District is not fully represented, the Supervisor of Brcko Henry L. Clarke will again be considering applications from political parties and independent candidates for filling Assembly seats that remain vacant as of Monday 19 November 2001.

All applications received in September will be considered again. All new applications should include personal and professional details of the candidates (one page), a statement of whom they represent and why they want to be in the Assembly (one page), and information on the candidate’s housing situation. Lists submitted by political parties should contain no more than four candidates and take into consideration the gender composition of the District.

Candidates will not be considered if they do not meet the requirements of the Statute of the Brcko District and the Code on Conflict of Interest for Councilors of the Brcko District Assembly. Copies of the Code of Conflict of Interest will be made available through at the expert service of the Brcko District Assembly. Persons who are illegally occupying property will also not be considered.

Applications should be received by OHR Brcko no later than Monday, 19 November at 10.00.
