PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE POSITION
The Anti-Crime and Corruption Unit (ACCU) co-ordinates and guides investigations undertaken by various agencies within Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a view toward developing corruption, fraud and other cases. We also develop and prepare strategies to improve the capacity and ability of the BiH authorities to fight against corruption, fraud and economic crime.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Assist and support investigators and prosecutors within BiH to process and prosecute corruption, economic crimes and war crimes;
· Coordinate with international agencies to combat and prevent corruption, fraud and economic crime in the BiH;
· Represent the ACCU Prosecution Unit as required;
· Identify and support systemic reform by recommending and developing anti-corruption strategies and legislation;
· Lead a team of lawyers, investigators and experts working on cases of corruption, other economic crimes and war crimes.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
· At least five years of experience as a prosecutor, defence counsel or judge, dealing with corruption and/or economic crime;
· Ability to interact with both national and international experts;
· Strong personal commitment to peace implementation and anti-corruption in BiH;
· Knowledge of BiH political situation/environment is highly recommended;
· Good written and spoken knowledge of English language required;
· Experience of, or interest in, working with war crime cases an asset.
