The Total Number of Received Applications is Acceptable

Total of 300 registered applications have been received by the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Councils (HJPCs) as a response for the open competition for appointments to posts for judges and prosecutors in the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the FBiH Supreme Court, the FBiH Prosecutor’s Office, the RS Constitutional Court, the RS Supreme Court and the Office of the RS Prosecutor

The total number of applications is acceptable. However, we are yet to examine the applications closely so it is hard to say how many of the applicants meet the desired criteria,” said Judge Jan Erik Oja, President of the HJPCs. “ Most of the applicants have one of the courts as their first preference and relatively few have chosen a prosecutor’s office. In this respect the outcome of this first round of vacancy announcements is not fully satisfactory. I hope we will be able to fill all the announced vacancies without being compelled to announce them anew. It is, however, gratifying that many applicants are from outside the current courts and prosecutor’s offices system.

The HJPCs will be using its Secretariat to review the applications and verify their content prior to starting the interview process.
