Statement
of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina held its eleventh meeting in Lukavica on December 30, 1996.

The Presidency welcomed the agreement of the nominated Co-Chairs of the Council of Ministers on the Protocol on the Modalities of the Meetings of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Protocol was signed by the nominated Co-Chairs in the presence of the Presidency.

Following its decisions of November 30 and December 12, 1996, the Presidency calls on the House of Representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina to convene in Sarajevo on January 3 and to approve the nominations of the Co-Chairs of the Council of Ministers and, upon the nomination of the latter, the Vice Chair, the Ministers and their Deputies. The Presidency also calls on the House of Peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina to hold its inaugural session in Lukavica on the same day.

The Presidency requests the Council of Ministers, after having been approved by the House of Representatives, to consider with urgency the question of a permanent arrangement on the premises, location and functioning of the common institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Presidency decided to adopt the Agreement on the Cooperation with UNICEF. According to the procedure agreed at the eight session of the Presidency, it has authorized Mr. Krajisnik to sign the Agreement.

The Presidency received a letter from the SFOR announcing the visit of the Secretary-General of NATO Solana and SACEUR General Joulwan to Sarajevo. The Presidency will meet the visitors in the National Museum on January 3.

The next meeting of the Presidency will take place in Sarajevo on 3 January 1997.
