Special US envoy to the Balkans, Robert Gelbard, talked with Tudjman about the situation in FBiH, refugee return and the situation in Eastern Slavonia.

In the municipality of Vitez, which is under Croatian control, one house has been destroyed by mines in the settlement of Grbavci and four in the settlement of Gacice. The owners of those houses were Bosniaks, report Sarajevo media. These terrorist acts occurred after 5 Croats, who visited their houses in Bukovica near Travnik for the first time last week, had been beaten up. “The attacks on the Croatian returnees are unacceptable,” stated DHR Hanns Schumacher who, due to an accumulation of unresolved problems among partners of the Central-Bosnia Canton, was in Travnik yesterday. Schumacher deamds the implementation of the election results, unblocking of the refugee return process and the formation of a joint police force in that mixed Canton. However, Canton Deputy Governor Ivan Saljic rejected Schumacher’s order and announced his resignation.
