The fifth session of the RS NA continued today in BL. After a 6-hour discussion RS NA deputies were still discussing the 4th item of the agenda, i.e. the very first at today’s session which refers to the holding and monitoring of the September general election. The deputies failed to reach any agreement on this agenda item. However, the RS NA neither gave consent to the OSCE holding the elections nor accepted a proposal to end the mandate of this international organisation.

“The RS NA demands the OSCE do the following:

  1. to hold the elections in a democratic manner, in line with the DA
  2. since the registration deadline has expired, the RS NA demands that the PEC makes no further changes to the electoral rules, but publishes the rules adopted and amended by May 20th,” stated Nenad Bastinac, the RS Independent Social Democrats representative, adding that Serb refugees exiled from Croatia, now living in the RS must get the right to vote. The SDS and SRS RS caucuses demanded that the RS NA deprived the OSCE of its mandate to organise the elections.
The Coalition for Democratic and Single Bosnia and the SDP of B&H demanded that the RS NA give consent to the OSCE holding the elections without conditions.
