News Summary

IMC Council press release

The IMC Council held a session in Sarajevo and amended the rule on fees for broadcast licenses for radio and TV stations. The monthly amount now depends directly on the status of the radio or TV station, whether it is public or private, in accordance with the IMC rules, and not only on power and the number of transmitters. Private radio and TV stations will receive a 20% discount. Also, the fees for private radio and TV stations will be paid in installments. The IMC Council determined the fees for public radio and TV houses as dependent on the power of transmitters and gave instructions for fee payment. The IMC supported the decision of the Enforcement Panel brought on 10 February 2000 to shut down RTV Visegrad on the grounds of broadcasting without the necessary license. The IMC Council also discussed the code for advertising on radio and TV stations.
