News Summary

ICTY demands that Zilic and Colak send documents needed in Cerkez-Kordic trial

The ICTY is holding hearings in The Hague concerning Croatian and BiH Federation non-compliance in sending documents to this court. It demanded that the BiH Federation ministers of justice and interior, Barisa Colak and Mehmed Zilic respectively, urgently deliver documents needed in the Cerkez and Kordic trial to The Hague. BiH Federation Defense Minister Miroslav Prce was detained by previous engagements and could not attend the hearing and, therefore, the ICTY demanded his authorized representative to make sure that the appropriate documents were sent or face punitive measures. Zilic denied having access to the requested information, saying it was in Herceg-Bosna archives. However, after a string of denials, Prce finally admitted to the existence of certain documents, which were most probably in the Grude (Municipality’s) archives.

The question is no longer if, but when property will be returned to its rightful owners – Benes

OHR spokesperson Avis Benes said the question of the implementation of property laws in the Mostar-Southwest Municipality is very critical. She called on the Municipal Assembly to appoint the proposed candidate, Zarko Markic, as Head of Mostar-Southwest Municipality. “It is no longer a question whether property will be returned to its owners, rather when” said Benes.
