Sarajevo – US Defence Minister William Cohen paid a visit to BiH today after he visited Macedonia. Although he did not meet with any BiH officials, Cohen sent a clear message to the newly elected leaders: The US will co-operate only with those who are ready to support the DPA by their acts and not only by their words.

Bosanski Samac – Today SFOR Special Units arrested the war crimes indicted Bosnian Serb Stevan Todorovic, known as Stevo Monstrous. He will be sent to the Hague after initial questioning, where he will be formally arrested. UN Secretary General Javier Solana said in a statement that the arrest was done in the framework of SFOR‘s mandate. Todorovic was a Police Chief in Bosanski Samac in 1992 and he is accused of killings, torturing, cruel behaviour against civilians, rape, violation of war laws and customs and crimes against humanity.

Sarajevo – The BiH branch of the International Association for Endangered People announced that the victory of Poplasen in the elections represents the biggest defeat of the International Community. Srebrenica – Prior to the celebratory atmosphere of Poplasen and the Radicals in Srebrenica today, which was shown by courtesy of the AP TN Agency, footage of the war criminal Ratko Mladic was shown. Mladic was entering the same town along with his (Bosnian Serb) armed forces on 11 July 1995 while Srebrenica was pronounced a safe heaven by UN. We are giving this town – Serb Srebrenica – as a gift to the Serb people, today, he said. It was time that we took revenge on the Turks in this region, Mladic concluded at that time. Commenting on the victory of Poplasen, the passers by expressed their satisfaction with the election results.

There followed international news on: The Election in Germany; Kosovo war (seven Kosovo villages were showered with rockets), Sadako Ogata’s visit to the Kosovo refugees in Montenegro (she promised to do her best to alleviate their suffering).

Jusici – Reportage from Jusici village showed footage of the returnees who already in October 1996 came back to their devastated village as return pioneers. Despite much suffering and extremist and police attacks, they succeeded to stay starting to build up their lives and their homes from the bottom line. Many houses have been reconstructed, wheat has been planted, and they have even been connected with electricity for two weeks.

Bihac – Although Bihac is an Open City where all people are welcome, over 379 Serbs from Bihac have sold their property and left the town. The DPA provision relating to the right to return to their own homes ends there. If this was an aim of the DPA Annex 7, then it has been completely carried out, said a commentator.

Doboj – Economy, that is, the economic interests will unite this country, was the phrase used on the occasion of the closing of the Second Small Businesses Fair Doboj 98. Around 25 thousand persons visited this Fair in RS.
