News Summary

Tesanj still awaits status of ‘Open City’

Tesanj is still waiting for Open City status. Considering the fact that they have been supporting the Dayton Agreement and Annex 7, Tesanj officials assessed a report by the German CIMIC within SFOR regarding the situation in Tesanj as completely unfounded, saying that it makes the process of announcing Tesanj as an Open City very problematic. Head of the Tesanj Municipality Fuad Sisic condemned a CIMIC statement that the mayor and his cooperatives are fundamentalists and religious hard-liners. Sisic added, “when an OBN journalist asked a CIMIC representative what ‘religious hard-liner’ means, he said ‘those are Muslim believers.'”
