News Summary
Mihajlovic asks Petritsch to remove Silajdzic from all public functions
Co-chairman of the Council of Ministers Svetozar Mihajlovic asked High Representative Wolfgang Petritsch to remove the other co-chairman, Haris Silajdzic, from all official duties in BiH. As reported by Beta, Mihajlovic expects Petritsch to carry this out so as to continue with the implementation of the Dayton peace process. Mihajlovic’s request comes in response to Silajdzic’s request for prompt and radical revision of the Dayton Peace Agreement at an informal meeting of seven Balkan country prime ministers, the European Union and NATO representatives in Sofia. According to Beta, Mihajlovic accused Silajdzic of advocating an Islamic republic in this region.

HSS considers that HDZ BiH continues with manipulative method
The HSS considers that the HDZ BiH is continuing to use methods of manipulation. Backing their claim, the HSS used the example of a press release mentioning the results of a meeting of representatives of Croat institutions held on 18 January for which the HDZ took credit. Another example is an article in the newspapers with the headline “Response of the Croat Political Leadership on the Processes of De-Constituting Croats in BiH” attempting to leave the impression that the article was written according to the minutes of that meeting. The HSS said that such claims are incorrect because such an issue was not discussed at the meeting.
