Sarajevo – Alija Izetbegovic, BiH Presidency President held a meeting today with high ranking Federal and Cantonal Government officials to discuss the newest security situation. They strongly condemned the terrorist act carried out on the Catholic School and listed the concrete measures to be undertaken in order to capture the culprits and avoid similar situations. Federal Interior Ministry and Cantonal Government will inform the public on this measures.

At its session today the Sarajevo Cantonal Government decided to cover the repair costs for the Catholic School and surrounding objects damaged in the explosion. The Government also invited citizens to actively co-operate in apprehending the terrorists and announced an award of DM 50.000,- for those who render good information about them, informs BH Press.

BiH TV received expressions of condemnation about the barbarism and violence on the school:
- U.S. condemned the terrorist act and called on the political and religious leaders to take strong action against such criminal acts,
- BiH Federal Minister for Science, Education and Sport, Fahrudin Rizvanbegovic, as well as British Ambassador Charles Crawford paid a visit to the Catholic school. During their talks Pero Pranic, the school’s Director, said that the Center will continue to develop the relation of understanding which the terrorist act aimed to damage.
- Reis-ul Ulema ef. Ceric strongly condemned the bomb attack calling it a violation against peace and joint living in BiH.
- The World Conference on Religion and Peace issued a statement calling on the people of all BiH religious traditions to condemn every terrorist act against any national community in the country.
Bucharest – It is not time for the withdrawal from BiH, but for the continuation of a battle for peace. Therefor it is necessary that NATO powers stay in BiH, Javier Sola, NATO Secretary General said at its Parliamentary Assembly session in Bucharest.

Brcko – International Supervisor for Brcko Robert Farrand, presented his order on establishing of the multi-ethnic police powers in the part of that town in RS. Follows the main points of the order, together with the dates for implementation.

Mostar – Worries which HR Westendorp expressed about the implementation of the election results in BiH, during last week’s visit to Brussels, showed to be accurate. The structure of the Mostar City Council is unacceptable for the HDZ since it doesn’t reflect the real situation in the town, Rade Bosnjak, HDZ Cantonal President told a Press Conference. HDZ demanded from OSCE a structural change within the City Council in which the Coalition for unified and democratic BiH has 14 and HDZ 10 deputies.

Kotor Varos – The first meeting of the political parties which, according to the electoral results – (13 seats for the Coalition for unified BiH in the communal Parliament) will participate in the local authority in this RS town, was held today. This was the first visit of Bosniaks to Kotor Varos since their expulsion from their town in 1992.

Follows BiH political parties comments on the recent local election in which a large part was taken by the Party for BiH. Representatives from this party stated that in the last 1 1/2 years some good steps forward had been achieved in BiH.

Sarajevo – Two months after its establishment, the Federal Parliamentary Commission for investigation of the alleged incorrect use of donations for BiH, is receiving answers from local and international organizations on its questionnaire about spent donations.
