European Union formally approved another set of sanctions against Yugoslavia which also includes ban of travelling for Milosevic and his family, as well as for 300 more officials. The sanctions also include freezing of Yugoslav assets abroad, export of goods and prohibition of air-traffic with Yugoslavia. Yugoslav Army Headquarters issued the order for withdrawal of troops from Kosovo. The Army HQ said that actions against “so called” Kosovo Liberation Army are finished, and that withdrawal of troops may begin.

NATO strikes continued last night targeting industrial zone of Cacak, airport in Uzice, and Kraljevo.

UN Secretary of State Albright said that the United States will not change its position despite the Yugoslav Army order for withdrawal from Kosovo. NATO spokesman Shea said that the decision on withdrawal of troops means nothing for the allies, because, according to what Shea said, “Milosevic has the ability to speak, and he can answer the five demands of the International Community whenever he likes.”

The Hague Tribunal Head Prosecutor Arbour visited Macedonia today. No further information were available.

Italian president Scalfaro visited Macedonia, meeting with President Gligorov and Macedonian officials. Scalfaro expressed a great concern due to NATO air-strikes, because, according to what he said, “it seems that bombardment stepped out of the framework of military targets and started to hit civilian ones. We say this with great respect and solidarity with the allies. And we do not think the solidarity means that only one is in command.”

Russian Special Envoy Chernomyrdin is in visit to Peking. Chernomyrdin met with Chinese officials in order to discuss the Kosovo crisis and aftermath of recent bombing of the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade. According to “Free Europe” China suspended military relations with the United States. This also includes the areas of greatest importance for the US, such is the issues of transfer of Chinese nuclear weapon technology to Pakistan and other states.

Anti-NATO protests continued in Peking and other Chinese cities. Thousands of demonstrators are attacking the US and UK embassies and their staff.

RTV BiH also reported on beginning of discussion in the Hague on Yugoslav lawsuit against NATO countries.

First certificates from BiH Citizens Common Accounts were distributed today. The BiH Association of Trade Unions addressed a severe protest to the Federation Government for charging three marks tax for certificates.
