Kumanovo

NATO and the Yugoslav Army representatives have continued their talks in the NATO Headquarters to speed interventions in Kumanovo, Safet Bisevac, OBN reporter from Skopje, reports. The main topic on the agenda was the organisation of the Serbian withdrawal from Kosovo. In the afternoon, the Russian delegation joined the talks.

Yugoslavia

Although authorities in Belgrade have accepted the peace plan in principal, NATO air strikes against Yugoslavia continue. NATO announced today in Brussels that the planes targeted artillery posts of the Yugoslav Army in Kosovo. OBN reporter from Belgrade, Tatjana Stankovic, sent her report for TV Info.

Kosovo – refugees

Situation with the refugee camps in Macedonia and Albania is difficult. Last night, Albanians beat up a group of Gypsies in the refugee camp Stenkovec.

World – reactions

A meeting of the G 8 ministers, cancelled today, could be held tomorrow afternoon. Representative of the European Union has gone to China. The Russian Envoy said that Russian troops in Kosovo could not be under the command of NATO. OBN journalist, Aleksandar Mlac, produced a report on this.

This was followed by an interview with an independent Belgrade intellectual, Slobodan Inic, who talked for OBN about the possible developments regarding the Yugoslav President, Slobodan Milosevic.

Sarajevo

The BiH Federation police arrested the SRTV cameraman, Rade Popovic, on the road Lukavica – Pale, in the Sarajevo area. Allegedly, Popovic was arrested due to a warrant issued in 1997 by the Court in Sarajevo. SRTV protested with the local and international officials.

This was followed by a report on illegal use of flats in the Sarajevo Canton. Head of the Sarajevo Office for Dwelling Issues has sent data on illegal use of flats in the Sarajevo Canton to the BiH Federation ombudsmen.

Rahici (Brcko)

A report on the start of refugee return to the Rahici village near Brcko. Representatives of the European Union announced reconstruction of another 170 houses, OBN reporter from Brcko, Slobodanka Radojkovic, reports.

Srebrenica

The first session of the Srebrenica Municipality Assembly since municipality elections in 1997 is scheduled for tomorrow. Results of the elections were never implemented and an international was placed as the temporary superintendent.

Sarajevo (USAID)

A report on 427 credits of the USAID given to the local private companies worth 270 million DEM. USAID have recently sued 13 companies from the BiH Federation for not paying back the credit.

Izacici (border crossing)

A piece on the BiH border crossing with Croatia, Izacici, where officers are faced with the lack of basic work facilities. OBN reporter from Cazin, Azra Bajric, sent her report.

World

A report on a massacre in Algeria was followed by a piece on the first democratic elections in Indonesia for the last 44 years scheduled for tomorrow and Pope’s visit to Poland. A report from Columbia’s guerrillas was presented.

This was followed by a report on 10 years from the student protest in Beijing, China, on June 4th. These days, the authorities prepare to mark the 50th anniversary of the China Communist Party. OBN journalist, Mladen Maric, made a piece on the current political situation in the country.

Sipovo / Sarajevo

A report on the arrival of the Orthodox Patriarch Pavle to the traditional manifestation in Sipovo. This was followed by a report on the opening of the reconstructed mosque in Sarajevo destroyed in 1992.

Sarajevo

A report on the meeting of independent intellectuals “Circle 99”. Topic of the today’s meeting was “Culture and Ideology”.

Sport

A report on the qualification matches for the European Football Championship in Belgium 2000 was followed by a report from the European Championship in basketball for women. NBA and tennis results from Roland Gaross were presented.
