Zagreb

The Supreme Court of the Republic of Croatia has been preparing itself for the forthcoming summon where the extradition of Fikret Abdic would be examined. His extradition was highlighted at the moment when the Hague Tribunal accused Croatia for being non-cooperative. OBN received confirmation on this from Zagreb by the STINA Agency reporter, Tanja Vukcevic.

This was followed by a report on reactions of BiH about the extradition of Fikret Abdic. The Hague Tribunal gave its approval to the BiH court to start up court proceedings against Fikret Abdic, allegedly accused for war crimes committed in BiH. This means that Fikret Abdic could be brought to trial at the BiH court.

Bijeljina

A report on the meeting between the RS Prime Minister, Milorad Dodik, and the leadership of the Bijeljina Municipality. Among other issues, the Prime Minister stressed the crisis regarding the election of the new RS president. Dodik warned of a conspiracy made by the ex RS President, Nikola Poplasen, and Yugoslav President, Slobodan Milosevic. OBN reporter from the area, Nikola Vlahovic, produced the report.

Kosovo / Montenegro

A piece on the current situation in Kosovo and the manifestation in the open “Parade of Love” held last night in Pristina. Several armed incidents occurred in Kosovo during the past 24 hours. This was followed by a report on cancelling an oil embargo to Montenegro. OBN journalist, Slobodan Maksimovic, produced the report.

World

A report on the beginning of elections in India was followed by reports on the current events in East Timor, Dagestan and Turkey.

Tarevci (Modrica)

Following a recent incident in the Tarevci village near Modrica, when a group of Serbs stoned Bosniak returnees, the situation is improving. The possibility for the restart of return process has been announced, OBN reporter from the area, Muhamed Cabric, confirmed for TV INFO.

Osmaci

A report on the return of Bosniaks to the RS. The pre-war inhabitants from six villages in the Osamci Municipality have already returned to their homes and inhabitants from the rest of three villages in the municipality should return to their homes soon. There are big opportunities for the Osmaci village to become the first municipality in BiH with the complete implementation of the Annex 7 of the Dayton Peace Agreement. Smoljan

This was followed by a report on the return of refugees to the Smoljan village where approximately 100 houses had been reconstructed. Fifty families of Serbs have already returned to their pre-war homes. The report was produced by OBN reporter from the area, Azra Bajric.

Tuzla

A report on women from Srebrenica training in tailoring provided through donations from the Netherlands Government worth 700,000 DEM. Sixty women from Srebrenica have undergone the training.

Banja Luka

A report on the difficult social situation in the RS. According to the records, there are 50,000 people who need social support. However, support has been provided for just a part of the population.

Tuzla

A report on the school plan for the new school year in BiH. There have been some changes in respect to the school plans for the BiH Federation and RS, although there is still a big mess regarding this issue. In the Tuzla Canton, the school year begins tomorrow. A meeting between the school directors has been held. The main issues discussed at the meeting were the content of textbooks and school plan for the forthcoming year.

Sarajevo

This was followed by a report on the new grading system in the BiH Federation. The report was produced by OBN reporter, Mirela Pehar.

Istanbul (Turkey)

A piece on the scandal which occurred at the Istanbul University where fraud was discovered regarding the entrance exam. The report was produced by OBN reporter, Amarildo Gutic.

Sarajevo

A report on the reactions to the new law of the Novi Grad Municipality in Sarajevo which allows owners of dogs to take them out only from 9.00 p.m. and 7.00 a.m. OBN reporter, Mirela Pehar, produced the report, about husband and wife from Sarajevo who rented their land to the Association of Citizens for Preventing Cruelty against Animals. The German humanitarian organisation ” Helfen ohne Grenzen” (Help without Borders) takes care for the dogs.

Sport

A report on the beginning of the second international Handball Tournament in Sarajevo was followed by reports on the local football matches, US Open tennis tournament, Australian Championship in swimming and WNBA matches.
