Belgrade

Today is the tenth day of the protest meetings in Belgrade organise by opposition parties. The police did not interfere until last night. The police was ordered to prevent peaceful protests of the citizens who headed towards Dedinje, the residency of the Yugoslav President Milosevic, reporter from Belgrade, Danica Ilic, confirmed for OBN. More than twenty citizens were wounded including several journalists and police officers.

Sarajevo

A report on the meeting between the Head of the Anti-corruption Team in the BiH Federation, Ejup Ganic, and the Head of the OSCE Mission in BiH, Robert Barry, held in Sarajevo today. The concrete results of the investigation on corruption were not presented at the meeting. Ejup Ganic told Robert Barry that the international community spends too much money in BiH. The Governor of the Sarajevo Canton, Ismet Mujezinovic, and the Prime Minister of the Canton, Beriz Belkic, met with the inspectors of the Department for Crime today. After recently discovered business crime in the Alemko Nuhanovic case, the continuation of this action was announced for tomorrow. The file of the company “Etruska” and others will be opened tomorrow, OBN reporter, Danijela Bozic, confirmed.

Banja Luka

The RS customs has confiscated goods worth 1,2 million DEM to date. The confiscated goods included cigarettes, coffee, fuel and clothes. There were more than 300 telephone calls from the citizens who wanted to report smuggling. OBN reporter from Banja Luka, Sanela Zivkovic, produced the report.

This was followed by a report on the presidential crisis in the RS. A few days ago, the High Representative in BiH, Wolfgang Petritsch, said that if Sarovic accepted the RS presidential post, he would have to pass verification of the OHR. Today, representatives of the RS Socialistic Party announced meeting between the Sloga Coalition with the SDS and RS Radical Party. World

One 14 year old girl was killed and other four children wounded in an accident in Kosovo. The children stepped on a mine. A report on the current situation in Kosovo was produced by OBN reporter, Gordana Frimel.

This was followed by reports on an incident in the nuclear plant in Japan, current events in Chechenia, East Timor and winner of the Nobel Prize for literature.

Banja Luka

The OHR condemned the statement of the Banja Luka Mayor, Djordje Umicevic, regarding the reconstruction of mosques explaining that the statement was against the Dayton Peace Agreement and the Constitution. The report was produced by OBN reporter from the town, Tatjana Lajsic.

Ilijas

Twenty Serb families visited their pre-war homes, for the first time after the Ilijas Municipality was reintegrated into the Sarajevo Canton. They all said they would like to return to their homes. The report was produced by OBN reporter, Anes Alic.

Sarajevo

This was followed by a report on the RS Commission for the Search of Missing People which has spent last three days visiting eight locations in Sarajevo for which they claimed were the mass graves. The Commission did not find a single body to date. Commissions from both BiH entities cooperated.

Tuzla

A piece on the credit of 70 million DEM for the reconstruction of roads, water supply system and airport in the Tuzla Canton.

Washington / Sarajevo

This was followed by a report from Washington, produced by Kemal Kurspahic for OBN, about continuation of the US support to BiH. Today, the US Embassy in BiH confirmed that additional 2,3 million dollars from the US Government budget had been provided for the process of refugee return in BiH. Also, USAID delivered support worth 225,000 dollars for ten non-governmental organisations today, OBN reporter, Zeljka Lekic, confirmed.

A report on the end of the first international cycle race “Tour de BiH” was followed by reports on local football and the UEFA Cup results.
