The Chairman of the B&H Council of Ministers, Spasoje Tusevljak demanded that 3 ministries make reports on work of the State Border Service. Representatives of the Border Service were not allowed to attend today’s session. Reported by Vedran Persic.

Banja Luka

The RS Assembly discussed set of Government’s economic measures for improvement of the state budget. IMF‘s final deadline for adoption of these measures is 26th August. Representatives of DNS and SDS criticised the report of the RS Government, claiming that obligations of the Government were not mentioned in it. Reported by Dragan Stanimirovic.

Banja Luka

Pensioners’ protests continued today. The RS Prime Minister, Milorad Dodik addressed them. His bodyguards prevented media representatives from attending the discussion, Suzana Vukcevic reported.

Sarajevo

The US Government donated, through the USAID, KM 11 million to the Agency for secure deposits. The money will enable banks, which sigh contracts with the Agency, to provide secured saving to depositors. “Banks which participate in this programme will have at least KM 5000, and there will be no possibility for savers to lose their money, if banks run into any financial problems”, said the Director of USAID Mission, Edward L. Kadunc. Zeljka Lekic produced the report.

Judges of the B&H Constitutional Court made 4th decision on balancing entity and state constitutions. Several provisions of entity constitutions were proclaimed unconstitutional. Reported by Adis Saranovic.

Brcko

The Federation President, Ejup Ganic visited Tuzla and Brcko today. He met members of executive authorities. They discussed refugee return and better functioning of the authorities in the Brcko District. Mr. Ganic also met the Association of Returnees in Brcko. The report was produced by Adis Nisic.

Bishops of B&H sent a letter to the Chairman of the Stability Pact, Bodo Hombach, appealing on him to finally do something to help refugee return. “It is shameful that people live in tents in the end of 20th century”, bishops wrote in their letter. Sevko Bajic produced the report.

Draught in the RS caused great damages to the economy. Representatives of the RS Ministry of Agriculture did not want to give any comments. The State Central Office for Merchandise Reserves hopes that the US Government will give them a loan in goods. Reported by Sanela Zivkovic.
