Banja Luka

The B&H Constitutional Court reached a decision on three constitutional nations in the country. “This decision will have a great implications.

I don’t think that the RS and Federation assemblies will support it, because Serbs and Croats didn’t accept it”, the SPRS member, Dragutin Ilic said. Leader of the “Party for B&H”, Haris Silajdzic, as well as numerous Federation officials welcomed the Court’s decision. The Court will continue their session in August. Cyprus

The first mass encounter of citizens of Cyprus took place during the weekend. Separated families met after 26 years, on land controlled by Great Britain. The leader of the Turkish Cyprists confirmed that he would attend negotiations in Geneva. Reported by Jusko Bojadzic from Istambul.

Medjedja

About 60 refugees returned to Medjedja, near Visegrad a month ago. They live in two small buildings, waiting for aid from local and international organisations. The international community promised that they would reconstruct 30 houses. OBN reporter Damir Kaletovic produced the report.

Koraj

About 100 Bosniac families returned to Koraj so far. They are faced with numerous problems. There is a large number of Serb refugees here. The RS Government has not been interested in their problems so far. Sreten Lazic produced the report.

Ortijes

The first group of Serb refugees returned to Ortijes two years ago. The International Community reconstructed the complete town infrastructure. Citizens are satisfied with their lives there. Agriculture is their main source of income. Reported by Sinisa Jokic.

Brcko

Local authorities signed an agreement with a German company about construction of 10 settlements. About 2000 houses would be constructed within the programme. German companies would also provide a loan. The report was produced by Slobodanka Radojkovic.

Velika Kladusa

About 12 000 citizens left Velika Kladusa. Most of them now live in the USA. The emigration process is still going on. The difficult economic situation and political repression were the main reasons for their departure. “We contact these people frequently, and I think that we should not expect them to return here at all”, Mr. Husein Delic, the Head of the Velika Kladusa municipality said. The election results haven’t been implemented yet. Amarildo Gutic produced the report.

Sarajevo

Religious communities in B&H are faced with numerous problems. The last Law on Religious communities was passed in 1976. The Inter-Religious Council made a proposal for a law, which would regulate many of their problems. Reported by Sevko Bajic.

The new code for cell phones in B&H will be 066 instead of 090, Slobodan Maksimovic confirmed.
