The High Representative imposed the Law on appointment of judges and prosecutors in the Federation of B&H yesterday. Deadline for the Law implementation is 30 days. The Commission for appointment of judges and prosecutors will be consisted of 7 members. The report was produced by Sanjin Beciragic.

Sarajevo

The Temporary Election Commission decided that the Municipal Elections would take place on 11th November. The elections will cost DM12-15 million. We hope that the OSCE member countries will provide part of the money, said the Head of the OSCE Mission in B&H, Robert Barry. Reported by Vedran Persic.

Mostar

A sheep disease appeared a month ago in Mostar municipality. Their owners tried in many ways to prevent spreading of the disease. There are several people in this municipality who have been contaminated. No one knows who was responsible for import of diseased sick sheep. The report was produced by Blazica Kristo.

Blegrade

Opposition leaders in Serbia decided to organise a meeting on 27th May, and until then protests because of the take-over of the “Studio B” will continue. Serbian students announced cancellation of lectures at universities. Reported by Danica Ilic from Belgrade.

World

EU officials met the Serbian independent media representatives in Brussels. The EU Commissioner for Foreign Affairs, Chris Patten, announced that the independent media in Serbia will soon receive aid from the EU.

The SDP President, Zlatko Lagumdzija met the US Secretary General, Madeline Albright in the State Department in Washington.

The American Senate voted against the withdrawal of their forces from Kosovo next year.

A group of armed attackers entered the Parliament and captured the Prime Minister and a few ministers in Fiji.

After the four hour military cue in Paraguay, more than 100 rebels surrendered to the authorities.

The investigation results on the tragic accident that happened last week near Kakanj still haven’t been announced. The International Red Cross is delivering aid to families of the victims. Reported by Ninoslava Kolar.

Banja Luka

Representatives of three pension funds signed an agreement on their mutual rights and obligations yesterday. The RS government is satisfied with this agreement. The Vice President of the RS Government, Ostoja Kremenovic, hopes that on their next session the Law on Pension Insurance will be adopted. Reported by Darko Savic from Banja Luka.

Sarajevo

According to the Sarajevo Canton Privatisation Agency decision, the privatisation tender for the “Marsal” hotel in the mountain of Bjelasnica will be repeated. “The future buyer will have to pay back the invested money to “Energoinvest”, said Sevkija Okeric, the Director of the Privatisation Agency. There are no law regulations for cases like this. “Energoinvest” was the only interested buyer for the hotel, OBN reporter Amarildo Gutic confirmed.

Jelec

Refugee return in Jelec, near Foca started on the 1st April. The American Ambassador, Thomas Miller said that the local authorities shouldn’t exclusively rely upon aid from the international community, and that they also should actively work on refugee return. Reported by Damir Kaletovic.

Sarajevo

The manifestation “Days of Slovenia in B&H” was opened in Sarajevo today. Businessmen from these two countries met and disccused the mutual co-operation. They agreed that the economic co-operation between Slovenia and B&H should be strenghtened. The report was produced by Anes Alic.
