Twenty two foreign diplomats accredited in Bosnia and Herzegovina, divided in three groups, visited seven returnees’ settlements today. OBN crews accompanied them in Visnjica in Srednja Bosna and in Stolac in Herzegovina, and in Hambarine in Krajina, the place visited by the High Representative, Wolfgang Petritsch. The aim of the visit was to investigate how to support return. The report from Hambarine for TV INFO was produced by Milorad Milojevic. This was followed by a piece on the visit to Visnjica produced by OBN reporter from the area, Ana Drmac. Some 50% pre-war inhabitants returned to the village.
Milici
Only a few dozen Bosniak families have returned to the Milice municipality in the RS to date. Their houses are destroyed. Except for some food and coal they did not receive any other support. The manager of the “Boksit” company asked the International Community for financial support for the start-up of small businesses in order to provide jobs for the returnees. Mostar
Representatives of the BiH Federation Government visited Mostar companies “Aluminij” and “Soko”. The BiH Federation Minister of Labour and Social Policy, Sulejman Garib, said that the return of ex Bosniak employees to the companies is not an ethnic problem any more and that some of them would return to their jobs while others would be paid severance pay. Sarajevo
After yesterday’s adoption of the budget and two laws under the pressure of the International Monetary Fund, the Representative House of the BiH Federation Parliament has stopped the session. The report of the Government’s activities for this year and its programme have not been either adopted or rejected. Tuzla
As previously announced, a significant number of officials from Tuzla Canton have been dismissed from their positions as members of managing boards of companies. Nine ministers from this Canton are not members of companies’ boards any more. This was done in accordance with the rules of the Provisional Election Commission.
World
The Permanent Council of NATO should make a final decision on sending additional troops to Kosovo tomorrow. The municipality elections in Kosovo are planned for the beginning of October and the UN Mission and OSCE will begin the registration of citizens soon. Russia invited leading industrial countries of the world to do something to stop violence in the South of Serbia. This was followed by pieces on Chechnya and Saudi Arabia. Banja Luka
The Agency for Promotion of Foreign Investments (FIPA) promoted 288 projects to date. The Agency was established by the BiH Council of Ministers. Officials of the Agency are not satisfied with the achieved results. The unstable political, economic and social situation is the main reason for foreign investing not to invest in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Sarajevo
The International Community is preparing a long-term strategy in order to make BiH a better country. A study developed by the experts of the UN and BiH will be finished in May. The Chairman of the Working Group, Christopher Turner, said that the study will be a small earthquake when published. The report was produced by OBN reporter, Vedran Persic.
This was followed by an interview produced with the Deputy Director of the Spanish Government Department for International Cooperation with the Eastern European Countries, Carlos Robles Fraga. The Spanish Government is supporting health, education and reconstruction of infrastructure in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Mr. Fraga visited BiH in order to evaluate the results achieved up to date and to prepare actions of support of the Spanish Government for the following two years. Mr. Fraga is visiting independent media as well and was a guest of OBN. The interview with Mr. Fraga was produced by OBN journalist, Vedran Persic.
It was announced recently that the Soros Foundation will decrease their financial support to BiH during this year. The rest of the financial support will be used for a number of concrete projects aimed to support the Stability Pact. OBN reporter, Anes Alic, produced the report.

Exchange of goods between Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and the RS has caused a number of problems to both economies. Because of that, businessmen gathered in Teslic in order to solve the problems, Igor Pozgaj confirmed for TV INFO.
Banja Luka
Opening of the fourth International Show of Civil Engineering “GRAMES 2000”. More than 130 exhibitors have gathered at the show. The government of Japan handed over support worth 5,5 million dollars to the companies which maintain roads in Banja Luka and Mrkonjic Grad. The report was produced by Darko Savic for TV INFO.
