Head of the OHR Anti-Fraud Department, Judge Manfred Dauster, today in Banja Luka met with Republika Srpska Prime Minister Mladen Ivanic to discuss the status of the investigation being carried out by the Customs Task Force based on the CAFAO report on suspected criminal activity in the RS Customs Administration.

Prime Minister Ivanic’s dissatisfaction with the progress made so far, has prompted him to assign up to fifteen more policemen to the Customs Task Force in order to assist and speed up the process. It was also agreed that a legal expert from the RS Customs Administration who will advise on any disciplinary measures that may have to be undertaken in the futurebe assigned to the Customs Task Force . As well, RS Prosecutor Jovan Spajic has agreed that two RS prosecutors will join the Customs Task Force.

The OHR & and Prime Minister Ivanic expect the Customs Task Force next step to be the taking of statements from all RS Customs officials and any possible witnesses and suspects. This needs to be done quickly so that those who are innocent can be cleared of any wrong-doing.
