New Head of OHR Mostar

The High Representative, Wolfgang Petritsch, is pleased to announce the appointment of Judge Finn Lynghjem as Deputy High Representative and Head of OHR (South) in Mostar.

Judge Lynghjem has had a distinguished career in the Norwegian legal system and has worked closely with international organisations in developing countries, promoting legal systems that are based on democratic standards. In recent years Judge Lynghjem has gained important experience of Bosnia and Herzegovina as head Judge of the Election Appeals Sub-Commission and as chair of the Brcko Law Revision Commission. Judge Lynghjem will take up his duties from January 10th, 2000, replacing Ambassador Richard Ellerkmann, who left Mostar on October 1st, 1999.

The High Representative takes this opportunity to welcome Judge Lynghjem and express his gratitude and support for the hard work Gerhard Sontheim undertook in the interim period, as acting Head of OHR (South). Mr. Sontheim now returns to his regular duties as Deputy Head of Office in Mostar.
