OHR Brcko encourages the citizens of the Brcko District who have not yet applied for the return of their pre-war property to do so by 31 October 2002. This will be the last deadline in accordance with the new amendments to the Brcko District Law on the Return of Abandoned Properties.
Anyone who has not applied for the return of their pre-war property by 31 October 2002 and who is living in contested space will be deemed to be a multiple occupant. In practical terms this means they will be evicted and will not be entitled to alternative accommodation.
The deadline for applying for devastated socially owned property has been extended until 28 February 2003. After that date no claims will be entertained.
