High Representative and EU Special Representative, Miroslav Lajčák, met today with member of the BiH Presidency Haris Silajdzic to discuss PIC Steering Board conclusions and wider international issues. PIC session was a favorable for Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the PIC members fully united in supporting the PIC Communiqué which outlines the way forward. Bosnia and Herzegovina has significant international, especially EU, attention which can help to unlock reform processes and that fact needs to be properly utilized. “What needs to be done on the side of BiH partners is to engage in frank and open dialogue which will result with compromise and consensus building on the issues agreed in Prud. In practical terms this means that signatories of the statement should try actively to create dialogue and reach consensus with all relevant political factors in Bosnia and Herzegovina and then to push this together through the parliamentarian procedure” said High Representative and EU Special Representative, Miroslav Lajčák
HR/EUSR and Presidency member Silajdzic agreed that the BiH CoM should firstly proceed with an inventory of the property the state needs to exercise its competencies.
Strategic issues require broad support of all political factors in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in that light High Representative and EU Special Representative Lajčák once again reiterated PIC’s message that the pragmatic approach and compromise is the only wayforward for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
