Inzko Visits BiH Foreign Trade Chamber

High Representative Valentin Inzko met today with BiH Foreign Trade Chamber President Bruno Bojic and Vice Presidents Veselin Poljasevic and Amir Zukic. Expressing concerns about the overall economic situation in BiH, and in particular the steady rise in unemployment, the High Representative and the FTC agreed that economy recovery needs to be understood as the key priority for all levels of governments.

“The appointment of a new Council of Ministers has brought hope and optimism. I am particularly encouraged by PM Bevanda’s emphasis on European integration and the economy, including the adoption of a 2012 State budget, as the government’s key priorities”, said Inzko. He called on the responsible authorities to urgently undertake concrete measures to stop the current negative trend and stimulate economic growth.

“Those measures must be taken in consultation with the business community, including the BiH Foreign Trade Chamber,” said HR Inzko. “Business representatives are best placed to speak about the situation on the ground and to advocate for a meaningful change; they are a credible and valuable partner to the authorities”, concluded High Representative Valentin Inzko.
