Inzko Sets Out Mostar Electoral Changes Process to Party Representatives

High Representative Valentin Inzko met today with representatives of several political parties. At the meeting, the High Representative set out details of a process that OHR will facilitate in order to ensure implementation of the BiH Constitutional Court’s decisions related to Mostar’s electoral process and to enable the citizens of Mostar to participate in elections as soon as possible..

The High Representative stressed that OHR was taking this step because all domestic efforts have so far failed and Mostar will not vote with the rest of the country on October 7

“The goal of our efforts is to help facilitate a domestic solution,” the High Representative said. He emphasized that the PIC Steering Board fully supports OHR’s role in helping to try to bring about such a solution.

The High Representative and his Principal Deputy Roderick Moore announced today a phased approach to finding a compromise solution. The first phase would begin immediately and would involve the OHR working initially with the Mostar Expert Group.
