Inzko: Reintegration and functionality must once again be Bosnia and Herzegovina’s guiding principles

“I want to stress how critically important it is that we utilize the 20th Anniversary of the Dayton Agreement to refresh our vision for Bosnia and Herzegovina and rediscover our purpose,” High Representative Valentin Inzko said at a forum hosted by the City of Dayton to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Dayton Peace Agreement.

“A progressive vision, a common vision of a reintegrated and functional Bosnia and Herzegovina firmly embedded in the Euro-Atlantic family was central to the groundbreaking progress that was made in the early and mid 2000s,” High Representative Inzko said. “Reintegration and functionality must once again be Bosnia and Herzegovina’s guiding principles.”

“Bosnia and Herzegovina was making its most impressive progress when it was most ambitious and when it was focused on delivering structural reforms, be it defense reform, indirect tax reform or efforts to establish and entrench freedom of movement…all steps we take for granted today,” he noted. “Looking at and beyond the current reform agenda, let us not shy away from the ambition that took us so far in the first ten years of peace implementation.”
