Inzko Joins Commemoration of 20 Years of the Siege of Sarajevo

Twenty years after the start of the siege of Sarajevo our thoughts turn to the Sarajevans, of all ethnicities, killed and wounded during the longest siege since World War II.

“The siege was an attack on civilization and humanity,” said High Representative Valentin Inzko today. “The heroes, then and now, are the people of this city who did not allow their spirit and their values to be broken by this assault”.

“The greatest tribute to the city of Sarajevo and all the citizens of BiH, who suffered so much for so long is to now ensure dignity, hope and a belief in the future” said Inzko.
