Instruction on Exchange of Information Related to the Sealing and Repossession of Property accepted by all five Ministries and Mayors who participated in its drafting

The organizations of the Property Legislation Implementation Plan (PLIP) are pleased to announce the finalization of the text of the Instruction on Exchange of Information Related to the Sealing and Repossession of Property. The text has been accepted by the five Entity and State Ministers and the Brcko District Mayor, who participated in its drafting and will oversee its implementation.

Specifically, the instruction has been approved by Mr. Mićo Mićić, RS Minister of Displaced Persons and Refugees, Mr. Ramiz Mehmedagić, Federal Minister of Urban Planning, Mr. Krešimir Zubak, BiH Minister of Human Rights and Refugees, Mr. Mijat Tuka, Federal Minister of Social Policy, Refugees and Displaced Persons, and Mr. Siniša Kisić, Mayor of Brčko District. The instruction has been drafted as an agreement and will shortly be signed by each of the Ministers and the Mayor, and published in the Entity, State, and Brčko District Official Gazettes. In the meantime, OSCE has hired expert trainers to visit each housing office in Bosnia and Herzegovina and train them on the application of the instruction, while the CRPC has operationalized a database to track information exchange and facilitate follow-up.

By quickly identifying temporary occupants who have lost their right to alternative accommodation in their place of displacement, by virtue of having repossessed their prewar property elsewhere, this program has the potential to greatly facilitate the process of property law implementation throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.
