HR/EUSR Inzko met Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt

High Representative and EU Special Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina Valentin Inzko met with Swedish Minister of Foreign Affairs Carl Bildt today in Sarajevo for discussions on the current political situation in BiH.

HR/EUSR Inzko informed Foreign Minister Bildt about the blockade in government formation at state and Federation levels. “Almost four months have passed since the October elections and what voters get is culpable stalemate, irresponsible politics, and all too often the price being paid by BiH’s most vulnerable categories”, HR/EUSR Inzko said. “Crucial topics are being put on hold due to intransigence and self-interest. This concerns concrete, pressing issues such as the Federation Budget, as well as the broader agenda necessary for EU and NATO integration. BiH politicians must focus on forming governments to address these issues without further delay.”

HR/EUSR Inzko commended Minister Bildt’s extensive experience in foreign and security affairs and his long and positive involvement in Balkan affairs.
