The High Representative and EU Special Representative, Valentin Inzko, met separately today with the leader of the HDZ, Dragan Covic, and the leader of the SDP, Zlatko Lagumdzija.
These meetings were part of a series of consultations the HR/EUSR is holding with senior politicians ahead of the 3 October elections.
During today’s discussions, the HR/EUSR emphasised, as he has done in the past and as he will continue to do in the future, that the serious challenges facing the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina can only be overcome through common efforts, constructive and open dialogue.
At the same time, he warned that the negative rhetoric that has scarred past elections offers the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina no solutions and promises only political deadlock.
