High Representative Christian Schmidt welcomed Mr. Vilmārs Heniņš, Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to Bosnia and Herzegovina. During their meeting they addressed issues relevant to BiH’s democracy, political stability, and institutional functionality.
“The focal point remains to hold free and fair General Elections in October, with the full introduction of modern technologies to restore the trust of voters. Local authorities must make progress on constitutional and rule of law reforms. That is essential in strengthening institutions and ensuring lasting stability, as well as BiH’s path to EU integration,” said High Representative Schmidt.
