HR Inzko meets Serb Civic Council

The High Representative, Valentin Inzko, met today in Sarajevo with a delegation of the Serb Civic Council, including the organisation’s new President, Sretko Radusic.

“In Bosnia and Herzegovina there is no shortage of citizens who have a vision free of nationalism and firmly grounded in the best of Europe’s ideals,” the High Representative said.

Underlining that the return process is not yet over, the High Representative added that one of his primary concerns and one of the key obligations of authorities in both entities under the Dayton Peace Agreement is to ensure the sustainability of return throughout BiH.

The High Representative also welcomed the Serb Civic Council’s efforts to reintegrate BiH’s communities and praised the Council for their efforts to uphold the equality of all citizens across BiH.

“It is clear that political deadlock has not provided any benefits to BiH citizens; Serbs, Bosniaks or Croats,” said the High Representative. “Ordinary people share the same problems and have the same goals; now political leaders must provide a common vision,” said Inzko.
