“Every citizen must feel safe in every corner of this country. It is up to the law enforcement bodies to provide a safe and secure environment,” said the High Representative Christian Schmidt, commenting on the most recent attack against the Orthodox Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Mostar.
“I expect a swift investigation and prosecution of those responsible for this horrendous and shameful attack. I also call upon responsible institutions to present to the public their findings about this and other attacks that occurred this year.
I wish to express my full support to the clergy and Orthodox believers in Mostar who are a tightly interwoven part of the fabric of this city. Local authorities need to undertake all necessary measures so that acts of vandalism in Mostar are stopped. Instead, this city should represent what is best in BiH – tolerance, mutual respect, and prosperity for all its citizens.”
