High Representative Christian Schmidt met today in Sarajevo with Registrar of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (IRMCT) Abubacarr M. Tambadou, and discussed the important role of the Registrar and the Registry in providing information important for domestic prosecution of war crimes and safeguarding the public archives and legacy of the International Criminal Tribunal for former Yugoslavia.
Truth and justice are key to a society’s ability to overcome its past and heal its wounds. For this reason, it is essential that facts about war crimes committed in BiH and subsequent trials are publically available, said the High Representative.
