High Representative Valentin Inzko met with the parliamentary delegation from the Czech Republic, led by the Speaker of Chamber of Deputies Jan Hamáček, today in Sarajevo, for an exchange of views on the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Welcoming the EU initiative for BiH and the Written Commitment by the BiH Presidency as important steps forward, the High Representative stressed that BiH’s future as a “stable, viable, peaceful and multiethnic country” lies clearly within the European Union.
“What we need to see now is quick movement on the formation of authorities at the State, Federation and Cantonal levels. Some of the legal deadlines have already elapsed. The ball is clearly in the court of political parties, who must put the interests of citizens above their narrow party agendas to ensure progress in implementing necessary reforms”, Inzko said.
